Startups need every advantage. Conversation intelligence (CI) software offers a powerful edge by analyzing customer interactions. As independent experts, we've evaluated the top CI tools for 2025 specifically for startups. These platforms help refine sales coaching, understand competitor mentions, and identify emerging market trends directly from calls and meetings.

Choosing the right software unlocks valuable insights, driving growth and improving customer relationships. Let's explore the best options available.

Best Conversation Intelligence tools for different use cases

For AI-driven coaching in lean teams:

Salesroom product logo

Salesroom

Stackfix Rating:

6.7 / 10

Salesroom is one of the best tools for AI-driven coaching tailored to lean teams. Its real-time Cue Cards provide instant, in-call guidance to reps without needing constant manager involvement — ideal for startups where manager time is limited. Coaching can be precisely tailored to your sales process thanks to highly customizable playbooks and cue cards.

Beyond live support, Salesroom also delivers good analysis of talk patterns, with proprietary engagement and call scores, giving lean teams objective data for targeted coaching.

The platform offers a straightforward user experience and setup, backed by a clean, intuitive interface — making it easy for startups to implement AI coaching quickly.

That said, there are some trade-offs. Salesroom focuses on insights at the individual conversation level and doesn’t track trends across a deal’s full history. It also cannot analyze previously recorded calls from other platforms. While its CRM integration covers the basics, we found it somewhat clunky to set up.

Despite these gaps, Salesroom’s real-time, customizable coaching makes it a top contender for startups focused on immediate rep improvement.

For startups using HubSpot or Pipedrive CRM:

Glyphic product logo

Glyphic

Stackfix Rating:

7.8 / 10

For startups already embedded in the HubSpot or Pipedrive ecosystems, Glyphic is a strong conversation intelligence option. The HubSpot integration runs deep, supporting custom field updates, while the Pipedrive connection is simpler - mainly focused on pushing notes.

Beyond CRM connectivity, Glyphic delivers excellent ease of use and a clean, intuitive interface, making it easy for startup teams to adopt quickly.

In our review, features like pre-call preparation and revenue forecasting stood out, directly supporting the efficiency and planning startups need. Glyphic also offers outstanding customizability for tailoring playbooks to match your sales process.

The main trade-off is setup complexity - meaning startups should be prepared for a steeper time investment upfront. There are also a couple of feature gaps: no mobile app for on-the-go access, and no real-time assistance tools like battle cards during live calls.

Despite these points, Glyphic’s strong usability, flexible CRM integrations, and startup-relevant features make it a top choice for teams already using HubSpot or Pipedrive.

For Customisability:

Gong product logo

Gong

Stackfix Rating:

7.2 / 10

Gong remains one of the most powerful conversation intelligence platforms on the market, particularly for mature sales organizations moving upmarket. It excels at capturing and analyzing conversations, with highly accurate transcription across 20+ languages and AI-driven summaries that deliver actionable insights.

Where Gong really stands out is customisability. The platform can be extensively tailored to fit your sales processes, CRM setup, and coaching frameworks, making it ideal for enterprise teams with complex workflows. Once configured, Gong offers an intuitive experience across call recording, AI feedback, and coaching tools.

We also found its talk pattern analysis and deal risk identification to be best-in-class, helping managers drive better coaching and forecasting with real data.

The trade-offs: Gong’s setup is complex. Serious implementation requires strong RevOps support and significant time investment — weeks, not hours. Integration flexibility is another limitation: Salesforce and HubSpot are well-supported, but teams on other CRMs may run into friction.

For startups with a strong data-driven culture, and the right operational support, Gong’s depth and customisability make it one of the best conversation intelligence options available.

For Analytics:

Clari Copilot product logo

Clari Copilot

Stackfix Rating:

6.7 / 10

Clari Copilot is one of the strongest conversation intelligence tools for startups and mature sales teams prioritizing deep analytics. It excels at capturing and analyzing sales conversations, with best-in-class transcription accuracy that can be fine-tuned using custom vocabulary rules — making it particularly valuable for industries with specialized jargon.

Where Copilot really stands out is analytics. The platform provides advanced deal risk analysis, surfacing at-risk deals early and helping teams proactively manage their pipeline with hard data rather than intuition. Customization is another major strength, allowing teams to align workflows tightly with their CRM and sales processes.

The trade-offs: setup is highly complex. Proper implementation requires heavy involvement from RevOps leaders and Clari’s services team, often stretching over weeks. We also found that customer support is primarily focused on admin users, meaning reps may need strong internal training support to get the most out of the platform.

Assuming a data-driven culture and the right operational resources are in place, Clari Copilot offers some of the most sophisticated conversation analytics and deal risk insights available today.

Functionality
7

Functionality

7/10

AI-driven coaching and feedback in real-time will really appeal to businesses where traditional coaching has not fed through to altering behaviours by reps. Functionality is focused on conversation insights, and you cannot manage sales forecasts and deal reviews within Salesroom so teams requiring this level of sophistication may need a full-service platform.

8

Functionality

8/10

Glyphic is a full-service platform that covers the core functionality you'd expect - pulling actionable insights from recorded conversations to support the sales organization in maximising revenue. A product differentiator is the use of multiple AI models for different functions. In addition, we love the additional touches, such as the easily accessible 'ask AI' prompt bars and the pre-meeting prep sheets.

8

Functionality

8/10

Gong does a great job of capturing data, and anchoring it in business context. Understanding customers and revenue goes beyond simply tracking activity and into following the pipeline via customers' business priorities. You can seamlessly offer and request feedback and coaching on customer meetings and sync forecast updates in both directions with your CRM.

Ease of Use
6

Ease of Use

6/10

The platform is fairly intuitive for creating meetings impromptu or in the calendar for future calls.

There is no learning curve to speak of - Sales reps should be up and running with minimal formal training, especially in organizations moving over from a full-service manager-led coaching platform.

9

Ease of Use

9/10

Following a good setup, it should be intuitive for reps and managers to pick up without a steep learning curve. For example, the 'Ask AI' prompt will be something that shouldn't require specific training.

9

Ease of Use

9/10

Following a good setup, the platform is intuitive to use - for recording and reviewing calls, manual and AI-driven feedback, providing coaching and popup battlecards triggered by words/phrases that matter to your organisation.

8

Ease of Use

8/10

Assuming a good setup, the platform is intuitive to use - for recording and reviewing meetings, for hands-on and AI-driven feedback, providing coaching and real-time battlecards driven by key words and phrases that matter to you and your customers.

Look and feel
8

Look and feel

8/10

We like the clean interface and how we can navigate between meetings, workflows and team insights. Creating a new Salesroom meeting link is quick and intuitive.

8

Look and feel

8/10

We love the interface which links quickly to all key functions without feeling cluttered. Reps will love the pre-built prompts for 'ask AI', and the superb integrations make time management a breeze with a view of upcoming meetings built in to the platform.

8

Look and feel

8/10

There is a lot of information on screen at any time, but the layout never feels heavy or busy. Loading new views is quick.

Customisability
9

Customisability

9/10

We like the ability to create and customize your own playbooks. Pre-built options include MEDDIC, BANT, Challenger and SPICED, with each element having its own signal (a prompt to the AI engine with a specific question) and you can edit these prompts and create your own signals to make the framework fit your own playbook. You can also equip your reps to respond to differnet cues in real time by customizing Cue Cards to be relevant to your business, ICP and competitors.

10

Customisability

10/10

Admin users (typically RevOps), with the support of Glyphic customer success, can customize most aspects of the platform to your organization's methodology. This includes how summaries are structured, and which sales playbooks/frameworks you use and how specifically you run them in your company.

10

Customisability

10/10

You can customize most of the platform to be relevant to your organization's processes, CRM set-up and business context.

8

Customisability

8/10

The greatest value comes from customizing the platform to be relevant to your organization's processes, CRM set-up and business context.

Ease of Setup
6

Ease of Setup

6/10

We used the self-serve trial set-up, which was frictionless. No need for payment details nor to speak with sales. As part of onboarding, Salesroom will create custom prompts according to your playbook. We found the CRM integration (we tested with Hubspot) to be clunky. You need to link a Salesroom meeting to up to 3 Hubspot records (contact, company, deal) separately, and you must do it when setting up the meeting, as you can't retrospectively link a meeting to a Hubspot record.

3

Ease of Setup

3/10

As you would expect with the level of customization, Glyphic won't be a plug-and-play. We expect your RevOps team would need to invest a lot of time with Glyphic's customer success teams to set the platform up to match your own playbooks and be relevant to your industry and customers.

2

Ease of Setup

2/10

Realistically you will need expert help from your in-house RevOps experts and from Gong's professional services team to get up and running. While they state 2 hours to start, it's likely to take some days / weeks to hone the experience perfectly to the needs of a serious sales team. Especially given role hierarchies and permissions across different levels of the organisation.

2

Ease of Setup

2/10

The expected trade-off when you have a highly custom tool for your needs. Realistically you will need expert RevOps leaders inhouse and some help from Clari's services team over the course of days and weeks while you customize the setup releative to your CRM, playbook, customers and industry.

Customer Support
4

Customer Support

4/10

The online help center is good for 'how to' questions but we were sadly unimpressed by the non-response from an agent via the live chat feature.

8

Customer Support

8/10

There's a live chat option, though for this type of platform most users would seek 'how to' type help from their own RevOps team.

5

Customer Support

5/10

In most cases, it would be Admin users (typically RevOps team members) who would contact Gong for support. We would expect most organisations to have their own internal training for managers and reps. We have not tested the tech support directly.

Integratability
6

Integratability

6/10

Uniquely you do not have to integrate a video conferencing platform but should you wish to, Zoom and Teams are both supported. You also have the option of Calendly and Chilli Piper for scheduling.

8

Integratability

8/10

The CRM integrations with Salesforce and Hubspot are deep, and allow you to push custom fields such as sales framework updates. Pipedrive allows a simpler integration so you can push Notes. There are no other CRM integrations. Dialer integrations are currently limited in number

6

Integratability

6/10

Other platforms offer more integration options for CRMs, which is the key driver here. That said, sales organizations using Gong would typically be using Salesforce or Hubspot, which are covered.

Ease of Migration

Key information from meetings can be exported to Notes and to specific fields within HubSpot and Salesforce (in the case of sales frameworks).

You have multiple options to share meeting video, transcript, notes and insights with colleagues and externally.

How we test products

With so many Conversational Intelligence software options available, we focus on identifying the best solutions for small and midsize businesses. Our evaluation process reflects real-world usage, prioritizing functionality, ease of use, and overall value. Here's how we do it:

Functionality

Conversational Intelligence software should enhance customer and sales interactions, provide actionable insights, and improve communication effectiveness. We start by identifying key use cases—call recording, conversation analysis, sentiment tracking, coaching opportunities, and performance metrics—then test how well each platform supports these needs. Tools that offer essential features without unnecessary complexity score highest.

User Experience & Onboarding

A great Conversational Intelligence tool should be intuitive for sales teams, managers, and customer service representatives. We test each platform's interface by navigating core features without prior training and track onboarding time—from account setup to analyzing the first conversation. Platforms that require complex setup or manual adjustments lose points.

Automation & AI Capabilities

Teams need powerful AI to extract meaningful insights from conversations efficiently. We evaluate each platform's automation features, such as real-time transcription, key topic identification, and AI-driven conversation coaching. Tools that provide actionable intelligence without overwhelming users with data score highest.

Integrations & Compatibility

Conversational Intelligence software must integrate smoothly with CRM platforms, communication tools, and video conferencing systems. We test how well each product connects with essential business systems and assess whether native integrations or third-party connectors are required.

Pricing & Value

We compare pricing across competitors, analyzing what each plan includes and whether critical features are locked behind paywalls. Hidden costs—such as per-user fees, storage limitations, add-ons for advanced analytics, or required enterprise plans—are factored into our assessment. Platforms that offer strong core functionality at a fair price score highest.

Stackfix's Fit Score

All of these factors contribute to Stackfix's Fit Score, a proprietary ranking system that measures how well each Conversational Intelligence tool aligns with a buyer's needs. It combines two key elements:

 • Requirements Met — How many buyer requirements the software fulfills
 • Stackfix Rating — Our expert assessment of the software's overall quality, usability, and value

The result? A clear, data-driven recommendation that helps businesses choose the right Conversational Intelligence software—without hours of trial and error.
