BambooHR is better suited for US-based companies with straightforward hiring needs who value excellent customer support and easy data management. Personio, despite its clunkier interface, is better for European companies with more complex recruitment processes, particularly those needing extensive job board integration and detailed candidate evaluation capabilities.

Bamboo's ATS is cheaper
For Bamboo, the ATS is included in the core advantage package (~USD 8.75 per user per month) while Personio needs a minimum of 25 users to be billed (>100 per month). For smaller teams of less than 10 people especially, Bamboo is more cost-effective.
BambooHR is significantly better at customer support
BambooHR offers exceptional customer support with an average hold time of 35 seconds and resolution time of 3-4 minutes. While support is limited to US business hours, the quality and responsiveness far exceed Personio's support, which has been criticized for ignoring requests, especially in English channels.

Personio has superior candidate evaluation capabilities
Personio provides comprehensive candidate evaluation tools with customizable scorecards for each interview stage, allowing teams to assess multiple skills and competencies. BambooHR only offers basic evaluation, making it less suitable for companies needing detailed candidate assessment.
