Bordio and Proofhub serve distinctly different needs in the project management space. Bordio excels as a lightweight, extremely user-friendly tool ideal for small teams or individuals who prioritize simplicity and immediate usability over advanced features. Its minimalist approach and intuitive interface make it perfect for basic project tracking.

Proofhub, conversely, is better suited for larger organizations requiring comprehensive project management capabilities, offering superior customization, reporting, and multi-project oversight. While both tools handle basic task management effectively, Proofhub's broader feature set makes it more suitable for complex project management needs, despite being slightly less intuitive than Bordio.

Advantages of Bordio

Bordio offers a cleaner, more minimalist interface
The platform's simple but attractive design with effective color coding makes it easier to navigate than Proofhub's more feature-rich interface. This is particularly beneficial for teams that prioritize clarity and visual organization over complex functionality.
Bordio is significantly easier to use than Proofhub
We found Bordio's interface exceptionally intuitive and straightforward, requiring virtually no learning curve. While Proofhub is also user-friendly, Bordio's minimalist approach makes it immediately accessible to any user, which is particularly valuable for teams that need to onboard quickly without extensive training.

Advantages of ProofHub

Proofhub offers vastly superior reporting capabilities
Proofhub's reporting functionality stands out with both self-serve and custom reporting options, complete with visual aids like pie charts and bar charts. This is particularly valuable for teams needing to track project metrics and progress. Bordio completely lacks any reporting capabilities.
Proofhub has much better team collaboration features
During testing, we found Proofhub's collaboration tools to be significantly more comprehensive than Bordio's. Proofhub includes built-in chat, task comments, and document collaboration, while Bordio only offers basic task comments.
Proofhub is significantly more customizable than Bordio
We found Proofhub's customization capabilities to be far superior to Bordio's basic offering. While testing, we particularly appreciated the ability to create custom reports using any task field as data points, and the white-labeling options for branding consistency. Bordio only offers basic customizations like color-coding tasks.
Proofhub has superior project portfolio management
Proofhub provides comprehensive project portfolio management with auto-generating reports showing project distribution, status, and completion rates. This is crucial for organizations managing multiple projects simultaneously. Bordio does not offer portfolio management capabilities.

Stackfix Verdict
Functionality
5

Functionality

5/10

<p>Bordio is a minimalist project management tool. In line with this it doesn't offer a large suit of functionality. It lacks task dependencies and some basic automation which we would expect from this kind of tool. However, the time-tracking, internal documents and task management tools are all strong.</p>
5

Functionality

5/10

<p>ProofHub does the basics well and that's about it. It offers easy to use task management features like creating subtasks, dependencies, simple but effective timesheets and strong custom and self-serve reporting dashboard. It offers no automation and limited integrations.</p>

Ease of Use

9/10

This goes even for the more advanced features like custom reporting.</p>
Look and feel
8

Look and feel

8/10

<p>Bordio has a simple but attractive view. It nicely utilises colour coding of each task depending of the 'type' of task it is (e.g. all hiring-related tasks are appear with a green background).</p>
6

Look and feel

6/10

<p>Nice touches of colour and and well-structured UI make ProofHub visually acceptable The home page in particular organised all salient information into an easy-to-read and attractive set of widgets, though it lacks that touch of elegance offered by more modern competitors. </p><p><br></p><p>Loading times are fast ~1 second.</p>
Customisability
2

Customisability

2/10

<p>Bordio lacks any more complex customisations. There are no automations to customise and no custom reports. However, there are some more simple, but useful customisations. These include colour-coding different types of tasks and adding custom fields and tags to each task. When creating internal documents you can also add checklists, links and add pictures from your device.</p>
8

Customisability

8/10

<p>Custom reports, dashboards, widgets on the homepage and fields are the best features here. Custom reports allow you to collect data on based on any custom fields you have assigned to projects and tasks and display such information using bar charts.</p><p>Cosmetically, you can use white-labelling to make your workspace consistent with your branding and aesthetic. Custom domain names are also available.</p><p><br></p><p>There is no customisable automation is available.</p>
Ease of Setup
9

Ease of Setup

9/10

<p>Bordio is fantastically easy to set up. It doesn't require talking to sales and full setup will likely take less than 30 minutes.</p>
7

Ease of Setup

7/10

<p>Offers a self-serve free trial and allows purchase without needing to talk to sales. Getting started and setting up a few tasks and subtasks should take 20-30 minutes, but it lacks a rich library of templates. Full setup should take less than a day.</p>
Customer Support
4

Customer Support

4/10

<p>There is personalised email support which are friendly and helpful. Replies usually take less than a day. You will also receive an email when you first get the platform asking if you have an questions or wish to schedule an onboarding meeting.</p><p><br></p><p>Self-serve materials are thin and not of great quality. This being said, it is unlikely that any such materials will be needed given the simplicity of the platform.</p>
6

Customer Support

6/10

<p>ProofHub push their self-serve materials, albeit they are of strong depth and quality - with videos and articles covering almost all queries you could have. However, no personalised in-app chat is available. You must click through their self-serve materials until you arrive at a 'questions and queries section' where you can complete a form and receive an email response. Responses usually take less than 12 hours and are usually helpful.</p>
Integratability
1

Integratability

1/10

<p>There is one integration with google calendar and google meet and that is it. Bordio is seriously lacking in this department.</p>
5

Integratability

5/10

<p>ProofHub is let down by its lack of integrations with only 14 available and some useful software -like Zapier, Zendesk, Notion and Jira - missing. That being said basic integrations like Quickbooks, email and Slack work well.</p><p><br></p><p>To mitigate this, however, ProofHub offers an API for custom integrations.</p>
Ease of Migration
1

Ease of Migration

1/10

<p>There are no exports available.</p>
8

Ease of Migration

8/10

<p>All self-serve and custom reports are available to export to CSV or PDF file with one click.</p>
