Snov.io and Cognism are two very different products. Snov.io excels as an all-in-one platform for SMBs, offering strong email automation, intuitive interfaces, and integrated outreach capabilities. It's better for teams prioritizing email outreach and needing an accessible, unified solution.

Cognism, conversely, is better suited for enterprise teams focusing on phone-based outreach, offering superior data quality, especially in mobile numbers (something which Snov.io omits entirely!), and stronger compliance features. While Snov.io offers broader functionality, Cognism provides deeper specialization in data quality and verification.

Cognism is significantly better at phone data quality
We found Cognism's phone data to be particularly strong, with an in-house team manually verifying mobile numbers (marked with a 'diamond' in the interface). In contrast, Snov.io completely lacks phone number data, making Cognism the clear choice for teams focused on phone-based outreach.
Cognism offers superior enterprise grade features

Cognism is better suited to larger teams needing enterprise friendly features like more advance compliance or multiple levels of data verification, including automated email verification and manual phone verification, ensuring a high level of accuracy.

We found Snov.io's email sequencing capabilities to be particularly impressive, offering both email and LinkedIn automation in one platform, while Cognism lacks any outbound functionality. The inclusion of native email warmup functionality makes Snov.io especially valuable for teams focused on email outreach at scale.
Snov.io is notably easier to use
With an intuitive interface and well-organized features, Snov.io proves more user-friendly than Cognism, despite offering more functionality. This makes it particularly suitable for SMB teams who need to get up and running quickly without extensive training.

<p>Cognism's functionality is very limited. Whilst it does offer one of the largest contact databases on the market with a relative strength in mobile data - the product does very little beyond that.</p><p>We were disappointed by the omission of any kind of outbound functionality (email or phone) and were not impressed by the quality of other facets of the product including the granularity of filter provided or the lack of any material automation/AI features.</p>

<p>Unlike many products in this market, Snov.io is more than just a database - it bundles in a outbound sequencing tool and a CRM too. Whilst its email/LinkedIn automation toolkit is well executed, its prospecting functionality leaves a lot to be desired - missing key pieces of data such as phone numbers, buyer intent signals and technographic data.</p>

<p>Cognism's design is modern and relatively simple, especially when compared with a lot of its competitors. When tested, we find both searches and general interfaces to be fast to load. Additionally, contact profile pages and lists were well laid out and easy to consume.</p>

The ability to create custom fields for leads and also customise how lists are presented are particularly helpful. However, we were slightly disappointed to see a lack of some enterprise friendly features such as the ability to assign custom territories to specific sales agents.</p>

<p>Frustratingly, Cognism does not offer a self-serve option to try out the platform. Instead, you’ll need to trudge through a sales demo before you are able to access their trial. Once access was granted, we found the platform very simple to set up and use. Given the lack of outbound functionality, there isn't much further setup required either.</p>

Additionally, connecting email addresses to their outbound functionality was relatively trivial too meaning that it does not take long to get the most out of the platform.</p>

<p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">You can contact Cognism's customer support via a live chat widget inside their web app. At first, you'll be greeted by an AI bot which, when tested, we find to be relatively unhelpful and eager to hand off to irrelevant help centre articles. Additionally, we found it difficult to get in contact with a real support agent and instead having to rely on account executives/sales reps who are more focused on driving purchases than provided information succinctly. </span></p>

However, support agents were often unhelpful and often resorted to sharing unhelpful help centre articles instead of addressing questions directly.</p>
