Moosend and GetResponse serve distinctly different market segments within email marketing. Moosend excels in providing highly customizable, feature-rich email marketing tools with an extensive template library, making it ideal for marketing teams who need granular control over their campaigns and value design flexibility. However, its interface can be overwhelming and it lacks some key e-commerce integrations.

GetResponse, while offering a more basic feature set with limited customization, provides superior customer support, better e-commerce integration, and multi-channel capabilities including SMS marketing. It's better suited for small businesses seeking a straightforward, reliable marketing tool with good support and essential e-commerce features.

Advantages of GetResponse

GetResponse provides better integration options
We find GetResponse offers superior integration capabilities, including crucial integrations with platforms like Shopify and Stripe, which are essential for e-commerce businesses needing seamless connections with their sales platforms.
GetResponse offers more comprehensive SMS marketing capabilities
Unlike Moosend, GetResponse includes SMS campaign functionality in its platform, allowing businesses to create and manage text message marketing alongside email campaigns. This is particularly valuable for businesses seeking to implement multi-channel marketing strategies.
GetResponse is significantly better at customer support
We found GetResponse's 24/7 live chat support in English and Polish, plus email support in 7 languages, to be notably superior to Moosend's basic support offering. This comprehensive support system is particularly valuable for businesses requiring reliable assistance across different time zones and languages.

Advantages of Moosend

Moosend is significantly more customizable
We found Moosend offers far more extensive customization options than GetResponse. Moosend's email builder allows for granular control over elements like slots, anchors, and multiple customization panels, which is particularly valuable for marketing teams needing precise control over their campaigns.
Moosend has superior email template variety
Moosend provides an extremely rich template library covering every category imaginable (Valentines, Webinar, Welcome), while GetResponse's templates are notably limited and less impressive. This makes Moosend particularly valuable for marketing teams needing diverse, ready-to-use templates for different campaigns.
Moosend offers more advanced email functionality
We find Moosend provides more sophisticated features like countdown timers and direct product showcasing in emails, making its feature set notably richer for advanced email marketing needs compared to GetResponse, which covers the basics.

Stackfix Verdict
Functionality
7

Functionality

7/10

<p>Compared to some of its competitors, GetResponse offers an entirely free plan which offers almost all the functionalities a company may need, ranging from email template creation, customer segmentation, and basic analytics tools.</p><p><br></p><p>However, it lacks some granular customisation options for all the above basic tools.</p>
8

Functionality

8/10

<p>Moosend offers almost all the email marketing functionality that e-commerce SMBs need. This includes building complex automated email workflows, landing pages, sign-up forms, and more. Its email builder, while not the most intuitive, is one of the most feature-rich we've come across—you can add countdown timers and showcase your products directly in your emails. It also boasts one of the richest email template libraries we've seen. However, Moosend doesn't offer marketing functionality for other channels like SMS, social media, or ads.</p>
Ease of Use
6

Ease of Use

6/10

<p>GetResponse was not difficult to pick up for the basic features (e.g., creating emails, websites, landing pages, signup pages, etc). However, it was more difficult to find entry points to the deeper customisation options (e.g., segmentation, A/B testing).</p>
4

Ease of Use

4/10

<p>We find that Moosend is so packed with features and customization options that it can be overwhelming and confusing. Advanced features often lack explanation or guidance. For example, in the email editor, there are multiple panels where you can edit the same thing, and elements like customizing a "slot" or "anchoring" text come without any explanation. Filters are also often ungrouped, so you have to scroll through a long list to locate the right one. It could take an average SMB employee at least a week and some assistance to feel comfortable using the platform.</p>
Look and feel
3

Look and feel

3/10

<p>Of the products we tested, GetResponse was visually less appealing than some of its competitors. The interface is generally a bit tired and old, making it slightly harder to navigate, and a creating a less delightful user experience.</p>
2

Look and feel

2/10

<p>We find Moosend's interface to be quite dated, with most screens cluttered by excessive information and customization options. The design isn't responsive, so when you resize your browser window, elements often overlap or text spills out of containers, making it frustrating to use. However, page load times are acceptable (1-2 seconds).</p>
Customisability
3

Customisability

3/10

<p>GetResponse lacks most of the customisation features that a business would need. Its email drag-and-drop builder is lacking in customisation options (beyond the basic text and photos). Crucially, where there are customisation options, the confusing UI slows you down.</p>
8

Customisability

8/10

<p>Moosend is about as customizable as it gets for a platform designed for non-technical marketing teams (i.e. without code) You can build complex automated email workflows and customize most client-facing assets. For example, you can branch email workflows to target different percentages of your audience, and you can almost completely customize landing pages and forms using a drag-and-drop builder. However, you can't segment users based on custom events that require code or use custom data objects.</p>
Ease of Setup
7

Ease of Setup

7/10

<p>Campaign Monitor's basic setup takes less than 30 minutes, but advanced setup, such as advanced workflows or creating segments, takes slightly longer, especially as key features feel slightly hidden within the interface.</p>
4

Ease of Setup

4/10

<p>We found that getting up and running on Moosend took longer than with other Marketing Automation platforms. This is largely down to two things: advanced features being extremely hard to set up, and the layout of the platform itself being unintuitive.</p><p><br></p><p>During our testing, basic setup took more than 45 minutes, and advanced setup took up to a few days.</p>
Customer Support
9

Customer Support

9/10

<p>Live chat expert support is available in two languages - chat is available 24/7 in English, and weekdays 9am-5pm in Polish. There's also 24/7 email support available in 7 languages.</p>
8

Customer Support

8/10

<p>You can contact Moosend's support team via live chat on the platform. Even during peak hours, we got connected to a human agent within minutes, and agents were always friendly and helpful. However, Moosend's help centre is only of average depth/ quality.</p>
Integratability
8

Integratability

8/10

<p>GetResponse integrates with most apps that users might need, including e-commerce, survey, and analytics tools.</p>
5

Integratability

5/10

<p>Despite having a huge library of pre-built integrations, we found that Moosend is lacking a few key integrations, especially for ecommerce. For example, it doesn't integrate with Shopify, the leading ecommerce platform, not Webflow, the leading web builder. It also doesn't integrate with Stripe, which allows you to directly collect payments from your emails/ newsletter.</p>
Ease of Migration
7

Ease of Migration

7/10

<p>GetResponse has a self-service function to export contacts. However, there aren't many other options for exporting analytics or other elements.</p>
8

Ease of Migration

8/10

<p>You can easily export key data via self-serve into Excel/ CSV format e.g. email list, email list by status, segments etc. It also has a reporting module where you can export custom data about campaign performance, email list changes etc.</p>
