GetResponse and Reply serve distinctly different needs in the marketing automation space. GetResponse excels as a comprehensive marketing platform with strong email design capabilities, e-commerce integrations, and robust A/B testing features, making it ideal for small to medium businesses focusing on visual marketing and e-commerce.

Reply, on the other hand, shines as a specialized sales outreach platform with superior automation workflows, deliverability features, and analytics, better suited for businesses prioritizing sales engagement and cold outreach campaigns. While GetResponse offers better customer support and template variety, Reply provides more sophisticated customization options and email deliverability tools.

Advantages of GetResponse

GetResponse is significantly better at email design and templates
While GetResponse's drag-and-drop builder may be basic, it still offers essential email design capabilities that Reply completely lacks. Unlike Reply, which only offers plain text emails, GetResponse provides templates and visual editing tools that are crucial for businesses wanting to create professional-looking marketing campaigns.
GetResponse has better e-commerce integration capabilities
GetResponse integrates with major e-commerce platforms like Shopify, WooCommerce, and Stripe, while Reply lacks these crucial integrations. This makes GetResponse a much better choice for e-commerce businesses needing to sync customer and order data.
GetResponse offers superior customer support
GetResponse provides comprehensive 24/7 support in English and multiple language options, significantly outperforming Reply's more limited support system. This is particularly valuable for global teams requiring round-the-clock assistance.
GetResponse provides better A/B testing capabilities
GetResponse offers A/B testing for both emails and landing pages, which Reply doesn't provide at all. This is crucial for marketers who need to optimize their campaigns through data-driven testing.

This is particularly valuable for sales teams needing sophisticated follow-up sequences based on prospect engagement.
Reply offers more sophisticated analytics dashboards
Reply's analytics function allows for highly customizable dashboards with flexible time period tracking, while GetResponse provides only basic analytics with minimal customization. This matters for teams needing detailed performance insights.
Reply has superior deliverability monitoring
Reply provides over 30 deliverability features and pairs users with deliverability experts, significantly outperforming GetResponse's basic deliverability tools. This is crucial for businesses prioritizing email deliverability and maintaining a healthy sender reputation.

Stackfix Verdict
Functionality
7

Functionality

7/10

<p>Compared to some of its competitors, GetResponse offers an entirely free plan which offers almost all the functionalities a company may need, ranging from email template creation, customer segmentation, and basic analytics tools.</p><p><br></p><p>However, it lacks some granular customisation options for all the above basic tools.</p>
4

Functionality

4/10

<p>As a sales outreach platform, Reply is very much fit for purpose. However, in terms of other marketing features, such as aesthetic email templates or richer automations geared towards e-commerce, Reply lags behind.</p>
Ease of Use
6

Ease of Use

6/10

<p>GetResponse was not difficult to pick up for the basic features (e.g., creating emails, websites, landing pages, signup pages, etc). However, it was more difficult to find entry points to the deeper customisation options (e.g., segmentation, A/B testing).</p>
5

Ease of Use

5/10

<p>We didn't find Reply particularly easy to use; its learning curve will be quite steep for those who are only used to running marketing automations on the bigger player apps - the layout on the home bar is not particularly easy to navigate.</p><p><br></p><p>We'd estimate the app to take at least a day for a regular startup employee to pick up - significantly more time than the other apps we tested.</p>
Look and feel
3

Look and feel

3/10

<p>Of the products we tested, GetResponse was visually less appealing than some of its competitors. The interface is generally a bit tired and old, making it slightly harder to navigate, and a creating a less delightful user experience.</p>
8

Look and feel

8/10

<p>Reply has an excellent look and feel. The interface is clean and modern - and once you find your way around, it's a pleasure to use. Pages also load very fast, meaning that technical holdbacks won't set you back!</p>
Customisability
3

Customisability

3/10

<p>GetResponse lacks most of the customisation features that a business would need. Its email drag-and-drop builder is lacking in customisation options (beyond the basic text and photos). Crucially, where there are customisation options, the confusing UI slows you down.</p>
8

Customisability

8/10

<p>Automations and emails are highly customisable - and the API key is easily accessible within the main menu, helping you create any integrations you may need.</p><p><br></p><p>Moreover, the emails are mostly text-based, and are also highly customisable.</p>
Ease of Setup
7

Ease of Setup

7/10

<p>Campaign Monitor's basic setup takes less than 30 minutes, but advanced setup, such as advanced workflows or creating segments, takes slightly longer, especially as key features feel slightly hidden within the interface.</p>
5

Ease of Setup

5/10

<p>Given the complexity of setting up any type of sales system, we've given Reply an average ease of setup score. This encompasses the amount of time it takes to complete basic setup (around an hour), as well as the amount of time it takes to complete more advanced customisations, such as advanced workflows and integrations.</p>
Customer Support
9

Customer Support

9/10

<p>Live chat expert support is available in two languages - chat is available 24/7 in English, and weekdays 9am-5pm in Polish. There's also 24/7 email support available in 7 languages.</p>
7

Customer Support

7/10

<p>Reply has a live chat feature which has been enhanced by AI (thanks to intercom, their customer support provider). There's also a dedicated customer success team on hand, who you can email anytime with strategy or project-specific queries.</p>
Integratability
8

Integratability

8/10

<p>GetResponse integrates with most apps that users might need, including e-commerce, survey, and analytics tools.</p>
5

Integratability

5/10

<p>There is a fantastic list of integrations provided by reply - covering automations, account-based selling, and marketing. However, it does not cover a whole list of e-commerce and marketing tools that other platforms do cover.</p>
Ease of Migration
7

Ease of Migration

7/10

<p>GetResponse has a self-service function to export contacts. However, there aren't many other options for exporting analytics or other elements.</p>
3

Ease of Migration

3/10

<p>There is no clear way to export contacts from Reply. However, if you use Reply Data –&nbsp;their database with 140m+ contacts –&nbsp;there an option to export selected contacts.</p>
