Greenhouse and Screenloop serve distinctly different market segments with their contrasting approaches to recruitment software. Greenhouse is the clear choice for enterprise organizations requiring extensive customization, integration capabilities, and complex workflows for high-volume hiring. Its robust feature set and sophisticated reporting make it ideal for large teams, despite its steep learning curve.

Conversely, Screenloop excels as a modern, AI-enhanced solution for SMBs, offering superior ease of use, innovative interview assistance, and streamlined workflows. While lacking some enterprise features, its intuitive interface and AI capabilities make it perfect for companies prioritizing efficiency and user experience over extensive customization.

Advantages of Greenhouse Recruiting

Greenhouse is significantly more powerful for enterprise-scale hiring

With extensive customization options, 530+ integrations, and robust workflow automation capabilities, Greenhouse excels at complex, high-volume recruiting compared to Screenloop's more streamlined offering. This makes it ideal for large organizations managing multiple concurrent hiring pipelines.

Greenhouse offers vastly superior candidate sourcing capabilities
Unlike Screenloop which lacks LinkedIn integration, Greenhouse provides an excellent Chrome extension for sourcing candidates directly from LinkedIn, complete with automated email sequences and engagement tracking. This is crucial for teams doing proactive recruiting.
Greenhouse provides much more sophisticated reporting and analytics
While Screenloop offers basic reporting, Greenhouse delivers meaningfully superior analytics with 40+ pre-built report templates and the ability to create complex custom reports grouped by any data field - capabilities that Screenloop lacks. This enables deeper insights into hiring performance.
Greenhouse has significantly better interview standardization tools
Unlike Screenloop which lacks interview templates and kits, Greenhouse allows creation of reusable interview templates with standardized questions and scoring criteria. This helps ensure consistent candidate evaluation across high-volume hiring.

Advantages of Screenloop

Screenloop offers superior AI-powered interview assistance
Screenloop's AI automatically generates interview notes and summaries while interviews are being conducted, a feature absent in Greenhouse Recruiting. This saves significant time for hiring teams who would otherwise need to manually document everything, and ensures no key details are missed during interviews.
Screenloop is significantly more user-friendly
With a modern interface and intuitive workflows, Screenloop is much easier to navigate than Greenhouse Recruiting. While Greenhouse requires significant training time and has complex workflows, we found Screenloop can be mastered by the average startup employee in half a day. This is particularly valuable for SMBs who can't afford extensive training periods.
Screenloop provides better career page customization without coding
Unlike Greenhouse which only offers basic career page customization without code, Screenloop allows comprehensive no-code customization including company culture sections, social media links, and mobile optimization. While Greenhouse requires coding knowledge for advanced customization, Screenloop makes it accessible to all users.
Screenloop offers more modern look and feel
We find Screenloop's interface to be more contemporary and attractive compared to Greenhouse's. This is evident in both the internal platform and candidate-facing elements, making it more appealing for modern businesses due to its modern appearance, which surpasses Greenhouse's dated look.

Stackfix Verdict
Functionality
9

Functionality

9/10

<p>Greenhouse is a legacy, heavyweight ATS that offers all functionality that most companies, including enterprises will need.</p><p>The only features missing are the more delightful touches for candidate experience (e.g. allowing candidates to upload a video on their application form) or granular reporting functionality offered by newer ATS, such as Teamtailor and Ashby.</p>
9

Functionality

9/10

<p>Screenloop combines solid, easy-to-use functionality with standout AI features. Its automation, analytics, career site builder, and interview scorecards are all strong — intuitive to use and built with modern hiring teams in mind.</p><p>What really sets Screenloop apart, though, is the AI. The note-taking, pros and cons, and summary tools make interviews faster, more structured, and far less manual. Many users highlight how these features save hours and cut out the usual back-and-forth chasing feedback after interviews.</p>
Ease of Use
3

Ease of Use

3/10

<p>Users we've interviewed (and ourselves) find Greenhouse very complex, and difficult to locate key information. There are too many buttons to click to do something, so everything takes longer than it needs to.</p><p>Teams need to invest significant upfront time for training to fully utilize Greenhouse.&nbsp;</p>
7

Ease of Use

7/10

<p>Given how much functionality and customisation Screenloop offers, it’s surprisingly easy to use. Key information is easy to find, and most workflows feel intuitive. That said, a few of the more advanced features can take a bit more time to get to grips with.</p><p>For most startup teams, a half-day and a bit of guidance is enough to get comfortable with the core features.</p>
Look and feel
5

Look and feel

5/10

<p>We find Greenhouse visually acceptable but looks a bit tired/ dated both in its internal and external facing elements.</p>
8

Look and feel

8/10

<p>Screenloop has a clean, modern UI that’s a pleasure to use. Pages load in under a second, and all the drag-and-drop features feel smooth and reliable.</p>
Customisability
8

Customisability

8/10

<p>Greenhouse offers high customizability. Users can customize fields, dashboards, alerts, scorecards, and even use custom CSS for external elements.&nbsp;</p>
7

Customisability

7/10

<p>Screenloop covers all the basics when it comes to customisation — interview pipelines, application form questions, and light tweaks to your career page. But some advanced options are missing. There’s no support for custom CSS, custom analytics, or control over the platform’s layout.</p>
Ease of Setup
4

Ease of Setup

4/10

<p>Greenhouse does not offer a free trial and purchasing requires you to talk to sales. Due to Greenhouse's unintuitive user interface, it takes 30-60 mins to complete basic setup. Fully customizing key features takes approximately a week.</p>
5

Ease of Setup

5/10

<p>Screenloop doesn’t offer a free trial and requires a sales conversation to get started, as pricing is custom.</p><p>Once you've got access, the initial setup is quick - posting your first job, adding your hiring team, and setting up basic stages takes less than 30 minutes.</p><p>If you want to fully customise key features, you’ll need a bit more time. With guidance from their team, you can get everything tailored in under a week.</p>
Customer Support
6

Customer Support

6/10

<p>While we haven't been able to test this ourselves, users we've interviewed report that it takes longer for the support team to respond compared to competitors such as Lever and Workable.</p>
8

Customer Support

8/10

<p>Personalised support is only available via email and live chat — and only after you’ve signed up. That said, response times are fast (usually under an hour), and the support team is genuinely helpful. We've heard many glowing reviews from users that corroborate this. </p><p>One flaw here is that Screenloop’s self-serve resources are limited. There’s a solid introductory video to get you started, but detailed docs on specific features are lacking. </p>
Integratability
10

Integratability

10/10

<p>With 450 pre-built integrations with third-party tools and an open API, Greenhouse definitely has one of the richest integration ecosystem out of ATS's we've come across. It integrates with most HRIS's, screening and collaboration tools.</p>
6

Integratability

6/10

<p>Screenloop’s integrations are strong across the board — HRIS, e-signatures, email, calendars, and background checks are all easy to use and well embedded in the UI. The one gap is candidate assessments. There’s no native feature or third-party integration, which could be a dealbreaker if assessments are a key part of your hiring process.</p>
Ease of Migration
6

Ease of Migration

6/10

<p>We've found the reporting module of Greenhouse lacks flexibility and is not user-friendly. Exporting crucial candidate information, such as DE&amp;I attributes, poses a challenge. Changes made to interview stages during the hiring process can also complicate data exports.</p>
6

Ease of Migration

6/10

<p>Screenloop’s analytics are fully self-serve and cover all the key hiring metrics — from stage-by-stage volume to offer acceptance rates. It also goes a step further with more advanced insights, like their “quality of hire” metric, which tracks how well new hires perform in their first 180 days. You can break this down by team or hiring manager, making it a powerful tool for spotting patterns and improving your process.</p>
