The choice between them largely depends on whether outbound sequencing (Lemlist) or advanced prospecting (RocketReach) is the primary need.

We found Lemlist's email sequencing capabilities to be well-executed and feature-rich, offering multi-channel engagement across email, LinkedIn, and phone within sequences. While RocketReach only allows one-time immediate emails, Lemlist provides comprehensive sequence building with automation capabilities, making it particularly valuable for teams running complex outreach campaigns.

RocketReach offers superior data verification transparency

RocketReach provides significantly more detailed data verification information than Lemlist, including timestamps for when data was last refreshed and user feedback on data validity. This comprehensive approach helps us make more informed decisions about contact quality, unlike Lemlist which only offers basic email verification status.

RocketReach is significantly better at contact database search
We found RocketReach's search interface to be notably more intuitive and reliable compared to Lemlist's clunky and cumbersome prospecting interface. While both platforms offer granular filtering options, RocketReach consistently delivered more accurate results, whereas Lemlist often failed to find emails for standard test searches. This difference is crucial for sales teams needing to quickly and reliably identify qualified prospects.
RocketReach is much easier to use

RocketReach's interface is significantly more intuitive and user-friendly compared to Lemlist's buggy and confusing experience. While testing Lemlist, we encountered numerous issues with stuck loading spinners and unclear error messages. RocketReach's streamlined interface can be mastered by an average SMB employee in under 15 minutes.

<p>Lemlist is not your typical lead generation tool. Instead, it's core functionality is outbound sequencing and as part of that, there's a native prospecting tool built in. Though Lemlist's contact database is large (450M contacts) and the filters it provides are granular - we find it to be inaccurate and cumbersome to use. In many case, it failed to provide emails for our usual test searches. That being said, Lemlist's outbound functionality is well executed and feature rich.</p>

<p>RocketReach is a no-frills lead generation tool. It's prospecting interface provides some of the most granular filtering options out of any product on the market. Additionally, the size of its contact database ranks as one of the largest amongst competitors.</p><p>However, RocketReach lacks many common outbound features that you might expect to see. Though it does provide the ability to reach out to leads one email at a time or automate reach out to multiple leads through its AI - you are not able to create email sequences meaning that most businesses will want to use a dedicated engagement platform alongside RocketReach.</p>

Additionally, list building interface was particularly buggy and confusing to use - often displaying error messages with no clear action for the user to resolve.</p>

However, it is fairly easy (&lt;2 mins) to reach a real support agent if within their operating hours. Though once we were in touch, we found agents to lack knowledge about complex questions and often leaning on providing irrelevant help centre links for answers.</p>
