Loxo and Pinpoint serve distinct hiring needs, with Loxo excelling in candidate sourcing and outreach while Pinpoint shines in candidate evaluation and process automation.

Loxo is better suited for smaller teams or those focused on active candidate sourcing, offering an intuitive interface and powerful email campaign capabilities. Pinpoint, on the other hand, is ideal for companies with higher hiring volumes and more complex evaluation needs, providing sophisticated scorecards, extensive automation, and comprehensive analytics.

Advantages of Loxo

Loxo is significantly better at email outreach campaigns
Loxo offers unlimited and customizable email outreach campaigns, which is particularly valuable for teams actively sourcing candidates. Unlike Pinpoint which lacks this functionality entirely, Loxo allows you to create sophisticated email sequences with multiple priority levels and fallback options.
Loxo is more straightforward to learn and use
We found Loxo requires only about 2 hours for an average employee to master key functionalities, while Pinpoint needs at least half a day plus guidance. This makes Loxo particularly suitable for smaller teams or those new to ATS systems.

Advantages of Pinpoint

Pinpoint is significantly more customizable

We found Pinpoint offers exceptional customization capabilities across all key areas. We can create highly tailored scorecards with weighted skills and sub-skills, design rich careers pages with multiple content blocks, and set up granular automation workflows. Loxo's customization options are more limited, particularly for scorecards and careers pages.

Pinpoint integrates with significantly more third-party tools
Pinpoint offers integrations with most relevant third-party tools SMBs need, including HRIS, assessments, background checks, and e-sign tools, plus Zapier for additional connectivity. Loxo lacks many key integrations, particularly with assessment software and HRIS platforms.
Pinpoint has far superior candidate evaluation tools
Pinpoint's evaluation capabilities are outstanding, with the ability to create multiple weighted scorecards per candidate, break down skills into sub-components, and compare candidates side-by-side with synchronized scrolling. In contrast, Loxo's scorecards are basic and lack the ability to be saved for reuse across jobs.
Pinpoint offers more intuitive and comprehensive analytics
While both platforms provide reporting capabilities, Pinpoint's analytics are more sophisticated yet intuitive, offering additional pre-built reports like rejection breakdowns and equality monitoring, plus more granular filtering options. Loxo's reporting is limited to basic metrics with fewer filtering options.

Loxo is best for

 • Businesses with moderate hiring volume (3-5 open positions at a time)
 • Who need efficient technical talent sourcing with unlimited email outreach campaigns and one-click LinkedIn imports
 • And/or who want strong workflow automation but don't require extensive candidate assessments.

Pinpoint is best for

 • Businesses with high hiring volume (5-10 job positions at a time)
 • Who want granular candidate evaluation tools
 • And/or who want advanced customisability, automation and reporting capabilities

Loxo is less good for

 • Businesses with high hiring volume (5-10 job positions at a time)
 • Who need sophisticated candidate assessment and scoring capabilities
 • And/or who need deep HRIS integrations for employee lifecycle management.

Pinpoint is less good for

 • Businesses with low hiring volume (1-2 job positions at a time)
 • Who need a simple, plug-and-play ATS without extensive customization options
 • And/or who need a native HRIS integration or built-in email sequence capabilities

Functionality
7

Functionality

7/10

Loxo offers nearly all functionality that an SMB will need: email automation, a career site builder, CV parser, interview scorecards etc.) The most notable functions which is missing is candidate assessments which can incur the user extra costs should they wish to conduct such assessments.

AI sourcing features are particularly strong. New features now allow you to see why the AI has chosen to source a particular candidate.

8/10

Loxo has a simple and easy-to-use interface. We estimate an average start-up employee would require around 2 hours minimal guidance to master all the key functionalities of the product.

Most functions and processes are easy to find and intuitive. Some more complex workflows can feel unnecessarily long-winded. For example, when adding custom questions to an application form, first a form must be created with all custom questions you wish to add and then this form can be added to your original application form. However, there are very few features like this.

7

Ease of Use

7/10

Because of the extensive customizability, there is a learning curve to determine where to set up different templates to assemble a complete hiring and interview pipeline. An average startup employee would require at least half a day and some guidance to master all the key functionalities.

But beyond the initial curve, Pinpoint is user-friendly and straightforward to navigate, with fully automated workflows saving significant time. The only quibble we have is a lack of Kanban view to view candidates on a visual pipeline.

Look and feel
8

Customisability

7/10

Loxo offers most of the customisations than any SMB will need. These include: customisable scorecards, interview pipelines, application forms (with plenty of question types), custom reporting functions and customisable outreach campaigns. However, some of these customisations are particularly extensive. For example, there is not option to an overall score to a candidate via the scorecard functionality and the careers page only offers basic customisations.

9

Pinpoint allows you to create highly tailored experiences for candidates and your hiring team.

You can customize the interview pipeline, careers site, email templates, scorecards, and interview kits to very granular levels e.g. assigning weights to different skills you're assessing for candidate scorecards.

You can even rearrange candidate widgets for personalized views.

8

Customer Support

8/10

Pinpoint offers 24/7 (weekdays only) in-app support with live human agents. Our testers always get a response within a few minutes, and found the team to be friendly, helpful, and willing to go above and beyond. However, users we've interviewed have also complained that instead of being given meaningful time by their support team, they are only sent links to videos.

Integratability
6

Integratability

6/10

Loxo offers API that allows users to build desired integrations where necessary. However, they do not integrate with many third party hiring products. For example, they lack assessment software, background checks and HRIS integrations. Furthermore, some integrations are limited. For example, the integration with Zoom only allows you to click a 'join meeting' button. You cannot create or attend meetings through the Loxo UI.

8
