Supernormal and MeetGeek serve distinct needs in the AI notetaking space. Supernormal excels with its robust AI assistance capabilities, generous free tier (1,000 minutes), and superior template customization, making it ideal for teams heavily reliant on AI interaction and requiring flexible note structures.

MeetGeek, however, stands out with better transcript editing, meeting organization, and playback features, making it more suitable for teams that prioritize post-meeting content management and accurate record-keeping. The choice between the two largely depends on whether AI assistance (Supernormal) or content management (MeetGeek) is more critical to your workflow.

Advantages of MeetGeek

MeetGeek offers more comprehensive mobile capabilities
Unlike Supernormal which lacks mobile functionality, MeetGeek provides both iOS and Android apps for recording in-person meetings. This is particularly beneficial for teams that need to capture discussions on the go or in situations where laptop recording isn't practical.
MeetGeek provides better transcript editing capabilities
MeetGeek allows users to edit both transcripts and speaker tags, while Supernormal offers no transcript editing capabilities. This is crucial for teams needing accurate meeting records, as it allows correction of any AI transcription errors.
MeetGeek is significantly better at customizing meeting insights
MeetGeek offers superior customization of KPIs and meeting insights compared to Supernormal. Users can set up custom KPIs with min-max values to track metrics like meeting punctuality and overtime, which is particularly valuable for teams focused on meeting efficiency. While Supernormal offers basic engagement metrics, it lacks MeetGeek's depth in customizable analytics.

Advantages of Supernormal

Supernormal is significantly better at AI assistance
We found Supernormal's AI assistant to be far more capable than MeetGeek's Slack-only offering. While testing, we noted that Supernormal's 'Ask me anything' feature accurately retrieves information from transcripts, and includes additional AI interactions like Norma (a real-time meeting bot) and AI Agents that can conduct interviews. MeetGeek, in contrast, only offers AI assistance through Slack, making it unsuitable for teams that don't use this platform.
Supernormal has superior template customization
We find Supernormal excels in letting users create and arrange custom summary types and templates in any order. This is particularly valuable for teams that need consistent, structured notes across different meeting types. Supernormal offers more flexibility in customization compared to MeetGeek.
Supernormal offers more generous free storage
Supernormal provides 1,000 minutes of free transcription storage compared to MeetGeek's 300 minutes, making it more suitable for teams that need to record and transcribe multiple or longer meetings without immediate cost concerns.

Supernormal is best for

 • Businesses with moderate meeting volume (10-20 meetings per week)
 • Who need extensive customization options for meeting summary templates and AI interview agents
 • And/or who want strong integration capabilities

MeetGeek is less good for

 • Businesses with high meeting volume (20-50 meetings per week)
 • Who need advanced AI capabilities like in-app chat assistance and cross-meeting theme analysis
 • And/or who want advanced filtering capabilities and quick transcription processing

Supernormal is less good for

Stackfix Verdict
Functionality
4

Functionality

4/10

It has most of the core notetaker functionality but lacks key features like an in-app AI assistant. If your team doesn’t use Slack, you'll need to rely on custom templates and sections instead. Additionally, there’s no advanced filtering, so you're limited to keyword search.

5

Functionality

5/10

Mostly offers core AI notetaking functionality: recording and transcribing meetings, uploading your own audio/video files for transcripts, but lacks a mobile app. It can't record without a meeting bot, lacks analytics, and its custom agents are still in early stages of development.

Ease of Use
4

Ease of Use

4/10

The setup is quick and straightforward. However, if you'll be using AI summaries and notes frequently, you'll need to switch between Slack and the app, as it doesn’t have an in-built AI assistant. While custom templates can be created for summaries, you'll have to either regenerate the entire summary or copy/paste sections to add new ones from the AI assistant.

7

Ease of Use

7/10

Key workflows, like recording meetings and inviting the bot, are intuitive and straightforward, with the Chrome extension providing added convenience. However, the "Invite" buttons in the web app can be confusing at first—one is for inviting the bot to meetings, and the other is for inviting users to the app.

Look and feel
6

Look and feel

6/10

The user interface is generally clean, and navigation is easy. However, the meeting view feels a bit overcrowded, not making optimal use of available space, and requires scrolling through the highlights section, which is small (though this can be adjusted with three layout options). The summary, insight, and context pages are basic and could be improved for better readability and organisation.

5

Look and feel

5/10

The design is clean and modern but simple, with a functional layout—nothing spectacular. Page load times are decent (2-3 seconds). There were occasional error pages, and the AI agents were temporarily down during testing, but since they were in BETA, it's understandable. Trying to open information on their website help pages sometimes annoyingly redirects you to the web app if you're signed in.

Customisability
7

Customisability

7/10

MeetGeek offers excellent customisation for meeting notes, allowing you to create custom templates for summaries and set up KPIs with min-max values to capture insights during meetings. It also provides above-average control over which sections of the meeting notes are shared with participants, with options for internal, customer, or public views, as well as controls on whether the notes can be edited.

Additionally, there’s strong customisation of the bot, and email summaries can be tailored with your own branding and messages.

8

Customisability

8/10

For summary notes: You can customise your summary template and arrange sections in any order. You can also create your own summary types, eliminating the need to ask the AI assistant the same questions each time.

For custom agents: Customise the agent’s name, theme, and the questions it will ask during the interview.

Ease of Setup
7

Ease of Setup

7/10

Self-serve, no sales calls. Comes with predefined KPIs and guided input boxes for note templates. Basic setup takes 10-15 minutes. Workflows require Zapier but lack a rich library of Zapier templates, taking 1-2 hours. Requires Chrome extension.

Self-serve, no sales calls. Provides note templates and guided input boxes for creating custom ones. Basic setup takes 10-15 minutes. Advanced workflows takes 30-40 minutes due to a rich library of Zapier templates. Comes with some predefined agents for interviewing and setting up new agents takes 10-15 minutes.

Customer Support
6

Customer Support

6/10

Has a help centre and an AI-powered chatbot that answers questions about the platform, with an option to speak to a human agent during their business hours.

Integratability

6/10

Supernormal offers useful integrations with a wide range of 3rd party tools e.g. Slack, Google Docs, Salesforce, Pipedrive. It has integrations with project management tools like ClickUp and Linear, lacks integrations with applicant tracking systems and doesn't have an API for custom integrations.
