Notta and Metaview serve distinct needs in the AI notetaker space, with Notta excelling in bilingual transcription and broad integration capabilities, while Metaview dominates in recruiting-focused features and analytics.

Notta is better suited for international teams requiring Japanese-English translation and those needing wide-ranging software integrations. Metaview, however, is the superior choice for recruiting teams who need detailed interview comparisons, engagement tracking, and customizable templates for standardized note-taking.

Advantages of Metaview

Metaview is significantly better at customizing templates
We found Metaview's template customization to be exceptional, offering detailed control over how summaries are generated with specific rules for keywords and various note styles. This is particularly valuable for teams who need consistent, structured meeting documentation. Notta's template options are more basic in comparison.
Metaview offers superior AI-powered meeting analysis
Metaview's AI assistant provides more reliable insights and better customization options for response formats. While Notta struggles with basic questions across multiple meetings, Metaview successfully handles complex queries and offers clickable context points to relevant transcript sections.
Metaview excels at tracking engagement metrics
We found Metaview's engagement tracking capabilities to be outstanding, with comprehensive metrics for analyzing meeting performance. While Notta offers basic tracking, Metaview provides more detailed insights that are particularly valuable for teams focused on improving communication effectiveness.
Metaview provides superior search and filtering capabilities
Metaview's advanced filtering system in 'Views' allows for more sophisticated search across conversational topics, event details, and custom parameters. While Notta offers basic folder organization, Metaview's approach provides deeper insights and better organization of meeting content.

Advantages of Notta

Notta is significantly better at bilingual transcription
While both tools offer transcription capabilities, Notta particularly excels in English and Japanese transcription with real-time translation features. This makes it especially valuable for international teams working across these languages, unlike Metaview which doesn't emphasize multilingual support.
Notta has broader integration capabilities
We connect Notta with over 20 major platforms, including CRMs, collaboration tools, and storage services. Metaview's integration options are more limited, focusing mainly on ATS platforms.
Notta offers more generous free tier for file uploads
Notta provides 50 transcriptions per month on its free tier, significantly more generous than Metaview's limit of just 5 free meetings total. This makes Notta more accessible for users wanting to test the platform extensively before committing.

It also includes advanced features tailored for candidate interviews, such as side-by-side comparisons and detailed reporting on engagement and meeting stats.

6

Functionality

6/10

It has most of the common AI notetaker functionalities for recording meetings and generating customisable AI notes, along with bilingual transcription and translation. However, during testing, we found it lacks reliable insights across multiple meetings, as the AI assistant struggled with basic questions when asked to summarise several meetings.

8

Look and feel

8/10

The user interface is polished and well-designed, avoiding feature overload on any page. Notes and transcripts can be viewed side by side, making efficient use of space to display notes, video, and transcript together. The comparisons page is tidy, presenting side-by-side comparisons clearly by keeping the topic on one line with the two comparisons displayed below. The "Views" page is well-organised, with filters at the top, results displayed compactly, and charts neatly arranged on the side.

6

Look and feel

6/10

The interface is modern and tidy, with meetings displayed in a compact view on the dashboard, providing a clear overview. There are a few visual bugs, such as components overflowing from their container and red underlines for correctly spelled words in the transcript. The AI assistant is hidden behind an icon and pops out when needed, while the sidebar hides when not in use. The app makes good use of space, displaying notes in a large area to minimise scrolling.

9

The "Views" page provides advanced filtering options and extensive control over creating reports, making it easy to find meetings based on topics discussed and other criteria.

5

Customisability

5/10

You can use your own templates for summaries, but there is limited customisation for who the meetings should be automatically sent to, and for the meeting bot, particularly in terms of which meetings it should auto-join.
