Supernormal and Metaview serve distinct needs in the AI notetaking space. Supernormal excels with its generous free tier (1000 minutes), versatile AI capabilities, and broad project management integrations, making it ideal for teams needing a general-purpose notetaking solution with strong AI features.

Metaview, however, is better suited for recruitment teams and those requiring detailed meeting analytics, offering superior template customization, engagement tracking, and transcript editing capabilities. While both tools require a meeting bot for recording, Metaview's advanced analytics and customization features make it the stronger choice for specialized use cases, particularly in recruitment, while Supernormal is better for teams seeking a more accessible, general-purpose solution.

Advantages of Metaview

Metaview is significantly better at customizable templates
We found Metaview's template system to be more sophisticated, allowing users to customize rules for keywords and display them in different note styles. This is particularly valuable for teams who need consistent formatting across different types of meetings. Supernormal's templates, while functional, don't offer the same level of customization.
Metaview offers superior transcript editing capabilities
Unlike Supernormal, which doesn't allow transcript editing at all, Metaview enables users to edit speaker tags and redact transcript sections. This is crucial for teams needing to correct transcription errors or remove sensitive information from meeting records.
Metaview excels at cross-meeting analytics
Metaview's advanced filtering and analytics capabilities far outperform Supernormal's limited group-based analysis. The platform offers comprehensive filtering options for conversational topics, event details, and custom parameters, making it invaluable for teams needing to track patterns across multiple meetings.
Metaview provides superior engagement tracking
We find Metaview to be unparalleled in engagement tracking, offering detailed metrics and performance analysis that Supernormal can't match. This makes it particularly valuable for teams focused on improving meeting effectiveness and communication quality.

Advantages of Supernormal

Supernormal offers more project management integrations
Supernormal integrates with more project management tools including Asana, ClickUp, and Pipedrive, which Metaview doesn't support. This makes it more versatile for teams using various project management platforms.
Supernormal has superior AI chat capabilities
We found Supernormal's AI assistant to be more versatile, with features like real-time question answering during calls via 'Norma' and AI interviewer agents. Metaview's AI assistant, while functional, struggled with basic cross-meeting analysis.
Supernormal is significantly more generous with free storage
Supernormal offers 1,000 minutes of free storage, while Metaview only provides 5 free meetings. This makes Supernormal much more accessible for teams wanting to test AI notetaking extensively before committing to a paid plan.

Supernormal is best for

 • Businesses with moderate meeting volume (10-20 meetings per week)
 • Who need extensive customization options for meeting summary templates and AI interview agents
 • And/or who want strong integration capabilities

Metaview is less good for

 • Businesses with low meeting volume (5-10 meetings per week) who need basic notetaking without recruiting-specific features
 • Who need keyword search functionality within meetings
 • And/or who need mobile app access for recording in-person meetings

Supernormal is less good for

 • Businesses with high meeting volume (20-50 meetings per week)
 • Who want to record discretely without a visible bot

Stackfix Verdict
Functionality
8

Functionality

8/10

It offers strong core AI notetaker functionality, capturing audio/video and providing insights through custom templates or its AI assistant. It also includes advanced features tailored for candidate interviews, such as side-by-side comparisons and detailed reporting on engagement and meeting stats.

5

Functionality

5/10

Mostly offers core AI notetaking functionality: recording and transcribing meetings, uploading your own audio/video files for transcripts, but lacks a mobile app. It can't record without a meeting bot, lacks analytics, and its custom agents are still in early stages of development.

Ease of Use
8

Ease of Use

8/10

It’s easy to set up and use. The custom templates are simple to configure, and the summary can be regenerated with a single click. The assistant offers good controls to customise the output format. Interview comparisons are easy to view by selecting two interviews, and the "Views" are straightforward to set up for generating interview reports.

7

Ease of Use

7/10

Key workflows, like recording meetings and inviting the bot, are intuitive and straightforward, with the Chrome extension providing added convenience. However, the "Invite" buttons in the web app can be confusing at first—one is for inviting the bot to meetings, and the other is for inviting users to the app.

Look and feel
8

Look and feel

8/10

The user interface is polished and well-designed, avoiding feature overload on any page. Notes and transcripts can be viewed side by side, making efficient use of space to display notes, video, and transcript together. The comparisons page is tidy, presenting side-by-side comparisons clearly by keeping the topic on one line with the two comparisons displayed below. The "Views" page is well-organised, with filters at the top, results displayed compactly, and charts neatly arranged on the side.

5

Look and feel

5/10

The design is clean and modern but simple, with a functional layout—nothing spectacular. Page load times are decent (2-3 seconds). There were occasional error pages, and the AI agents were temporarily down during testing, but since they were in BETA, it's understandable. Trying to open information on their website help pages sometimes annoyingly redirects you to the web app if you're signed in.

Customisability
9

Customisability

9/10

The templates offer detailed control over how summaries are generated, allowing custom setups for identified topics. Both the summaries and AI assistant responses are highly customisable. The "Views" page provides advanced filtering options and extensive control over creating reports, making it easy to find meetings based on topics discussed and other criteria.

8

Customisability

8/10

For summary notes: You can customise your summary template and arrange sections in any order. You can also create your own summary types, eliminating the need to ask the AI assistant the same questions each time.

For custom agents: Customise the agent’s name, theme, and the questions it will ask during the interview.

Ease of Setup
8
