Moosend is the superior choice for businesses requiring advanced customization and sophisticated marketing features, offering AI-powered capabilities and extensive customization options. However, it comes with a steeper learning curve and a more complex interface.

SendX, on the other hand, is better suited for small businesses prioritizing ease of use over advanced features, offering a more straightforward, albeit basic, marketing automation solution. The key trade-off is between Moosend's power and customization versus SendX's simplicity and user-friendliness.

Advantages of Moosend

Moosend is significantly more customizable

While SendX provides basic customization, Moosend offers substantially more flexibility in how marketing assets can be customized. This is particularly valuable for businesses that need to maintain strict brand consistency or create highly specialized marketing campaigns.

Moosend provides better customer support

While SendX offers good support, Moosend edges ahead with excellent customer support, providing quick access to helpful human agents even during peak hours. This is particularly valuable for businesses that need reliable, responsive support for their marketing operations.

Moosend offers more advanced functionality

Compared to SendX's basic feature set, Moosend provides more sophisticated marketing capabilities, including AI-powered message drafting and a richer template library. This makes it particularly suitable for businesses requiring advanced marketing automation features.

Moosend has superior data export capabilities

Unlike SendX's limited export options, Moosend offers comprehensive data export capabilities, including custom reporting and various data formats. This is especially useful for businesses that need detailed marketing analytics and reporting.

Advantages of SendX

SendX is significantly easier to use

While Moosend's interface can be overwhelming and confusing, SendX offers a more straightforward experience that we find intuitive. Most startup employees can become proficient with SendX's key features in just 1-2 hours, making it ideal for teams that need to get up and running quickly with minimal training.

SendX has better time zone management

Unlike Moosend, SendX empowers message delivery by time zone, ensuring emails reach recipients at their optimal local moment. This proves crucial for businesses with global reach or those operating across diverse geographical regions.

SendX provides better direct integrations with e-commerce platforms
SendX offers direct integration with Stripe and supports Shopify through third-party integration, while Moosend lacks these key e-commerce integrations. This makes SendX more suitable for businesses that need seamless payment processing and e-commerce functionality.
SendX offers faster setup

SendX can be set up in 10-20 minutes for basic functionality and within a day for full customization, while Moosend requires more than 45 minutes for basic setup and up to several days for advanced features. This makes SendX more suitable for teams who need to quickly implement their email marketing solution.

Moosend is best for

  • Businesses with low email volume (1k-5k emails per month)
  • Who need highly customizable e-commerce email marketing and need advanced automation workflows with granular targeting
  • And/or who want comprehensive e-commerce email features and need landing pages and signup forms without coding

SendX is best for

  • Businesses with moderate email volume (5k-10k emails per month) who want straightforward email marketing
  • Who need an intuitive drag-and-drop email builder and extensive template library for quick campaign creation
  • And/or who want easy contact segmentation and basic automation without complex omnichannel features

Moosend is less good for

  • Businesses with high email volume (10k-50k emails per month) who need omnichannel marketing capabilities
  • Who need an intuitive, easy-to-use platform with clear guidance on advanced features
  • And/or who want modern e-commerce integrations like Shopify, Stripe, or Webflow

SendX is less good for

  • Businesses with high email volume (10k - 50k emails per month) who need sophisticated marketing automation across multiple channels
  • Who need advanced marketing features like dynamic content blocks, ABM tools, or built-in survey capabilities
  • And/or who want seamless native integrations with major platforms like Shopify, Salesforce, or HubSpot without relying on third-party connections

Stackfix Verdict
Functionality
8

Functionality

8/10

<p>Moosend offers almost all the email marketing functionality that e-commerce SMBs need. This includes building complex automated email workflows, landing pages, sign-up forms, and more. Its email builder, while not the most intuitive, is one of the most feature-rich we've come across—you can add countdown timers and showcase your products directly in your emails. It also boasts one of the richest email template libraries we've seen. However, Moosend doesn't offer marketing functionality for other channels like SMS, social media, or ads.</p>
4

Functionality

4/10

<p>SendX provides core email campaign functionalities, including automated email series, a drag-and-drop email builder, and A/B testing. However, like many platforms, it lacks support for omni-channel marketing, such as SMS, social media management, or blog publishing through a built-in content management system. It also misses advanced features like AI-driven creative assistance and custom reporting.</p>
Ease of Use
4

Ease of Use

4/10

<p>We find that Moosend is so packed with features and customization options that it can be overwhelming and confusing. Advanced features often lack explanation or guidance. For example, in the email editor, there are multiple panels where you can edit the same thing, and elements like customizing a "slot" or "anchoring" text come without any explanation. Filters are also often ungrouped, so you have to scroll through a long list to locate the right one. It could take an average SMB employee at least a week and some assistance to feel comfortable using the platform.</p>
8

Ease of Use

8/10

<p>SendX is easy to navigate. Most startup employees would require just 1-2 hours and minimal guidance to use its key features proficiently. Functions like flows, campaigns, and segments are easily accessible, with straightforward processes that never feel overwhelming.</p>
Look and feel
2

Look and feel

2/10

<p>We find Moosend's interface to be quite dated, with most screens cluttered by excessive information and customization options. The design isn't responsive, so when you resize your browser window, elements often overlap or text spills out of containers, making it frustrating to use. However, page load times are acceptable (1-2 seconds).</p>
4

Look and feel

4/10

<p>The interface is very basic and feels outdated, lacking the modern design elements seen in some competitors. It features minimal use of color, giving it a uniform and unpolished appearance. Most pages look similar and resemble forms rather than a visually engaging platform.</p>
Customisability
8

Customisability

8/10

<p>Moosend is about as customizable as it gets for a platform designed for non-technical marketing teams (i.e. without code) You can build complex automated email workflows and customize most client-facing assets. For example, you can branch email workflows to target different percentages of your audience, and you can almost completely customize landing pages and forms using a drag-and-drop builder. However, you can't segment users based on custom events that require code or use custom data objects.</p>
5

Customisability

5/10

<p>Much of the product is highly customizable, enabling users to create email campaigns from scratch or edit templates. Good conditional segmentation and flow creation are also offered.</p><p>However, the analytics dashboard lacks any customization options.</p>
Ease of Setup
4

Ease of Setup

4/10

<p>We found that getting up and running on Moosend took longer than with other Marketing Automation platforms. This is largely down to two things: advanced features being extremely hard to set up, and the layout of the platform itself being unintuitive.</p><p><br></p><p>During our testing, basic setup took more than 45 minutes, and advanced setup took up to a few days.</p>
7

Ease of Setup

7/10

<p>SendX offers a self-serve free trial and allows purchase without needing to talk to sales. Basic setup takes 10-20 minutes, while full customization, including advanced workflows, integrations, and custom email templates, is typically completed within a day with minimal assistance.</p>
Customer Support
8

Customer Support

8/10

<p>You can contact Moosend's support team via live chat on the platform. Even during peak hours, we got connected to a human agent within minutes, and agents were always friendly and helpful. However, Moosend's help centre is only of average depth/ quality.</p>
7

Customer Support

7/10

<p>SendX provides excellent customer support with in-app live chat during their business hours, offering responses within minutes. It also features a comprehensive self-serve help center with high-quality, in-depth resources.</p>
Integratability
5

Integratability

5/10

<p>Despite having a huge library of pre-built integrations, we found that Moosend is lacking a few key integrations, especially for ecommerce. For example, it doesn't integrate with Shopify, the leading ecommerce platform, not Webflow, the leading web builder. It also doesn't integrate with Stripe, which allows you to directly collect payments from your emails/ newsletter.</p>
4

Integratability

4/10

<p>SendX integrates with platforms like Zapier, WooCommerce, Stripe, and Pipedrive. However, for platforms like Shopify, Webflow, Typeform, HubSpot, and Salesforce, it relies on third-party integrations, requiring additional setup compared to native solutions.</p>
Ease of Migration
8

Ease of Migration

8/10

<p>You can easily export key data via self-serve into Excel/ CSV format e.g. email list, email list by status, segments etc. It also has a reporting module where you can export custom data about campaign performance, email list changes etc.</p>
5

Ease of Migration

5/10

<p>Subscriber lists are easily exportable through a self-serve function, but campaign data is not.</p><p>Other data may also be accessed via an API, opening up more possibilities for integrating the platform with other software.</p>
