Recruitee and Zoho Recruit serve distinct market segments within the ATS space. Recruitee excels as a modern, user-friendly ATS ideal for growing companies prioritizing ease of use and employer branding, with standout features like customizable career pages and per-role interview pipelines.

Zoho Recruit, on the other hand, has an extremely complex user interface and significant limitations with pipeline customisability. It is really only better suited for teams who want rich features at a very low cost/ want to integrate it with Zoho People.

Advantages of Recruitee

Recruitee is significantly more user-friendly

We found Recruitee's interface to be highly intuitive and straightforward, with a clean design that makes key features easy to find and use. In contrast, Zoho Recruit's interface is cluttered and confusing, with important features like interview pipelines hidden in submenus. This ease of use is particularly valuable for hiring managers and team members who only occasionally use the ATS.

Recruitee offers vastly superior careers page customization
Recruitee's drag-and-drop careers page builder provides extensive customization options, including video backgrounds, custom CSS, and granular styling controls. Zoho Recruit only offers basic customization like logo and color changes. This difference matters for companies wanting to create a compelling employer brand and candidate experience.
Recruitee offers superior job board reach

Recruitee integrates with 2900 job boards compared to Zoho's 65, giving organizations significantly broader reach in their talent search. This is especially valuable for companies hiring in multiple regions or for niche positions.

Recruitee enables role-specific interview pipelines
Unlike Zoho Recruit which forces all positions to use the same interview pipeline, Recruitee allows teams to create customized pipelines for each role. This is crucial for organizations hiring across different departments with varying interview needs.

Advantages of Zoho Recruit

Zoho Recruit is significantly more affordable
Zoho Recruit offers competitive pricing based on the number of recruiters, making it accessible for smaller teams. In contrast, Recruitee gates key features like pre-screening behind its premium 'Grow plan', making it considerably more expensive for similar functionality.
Zoho Recruit offers more advanced candidate evaluation features
We found Zoho Recruit's candidate evaluation capabilities to be more sophisticated than Recruitee's, offering weighted scorecards and displaying average competency assessments. Recruitee lacks these advanced evaluation features, limiting teams who need detailed candidate assessment frameworks.
Zoho Recruit has better HRIS integration
With its native integration with Zoho People, Zoho Recruit offers seamless HRIS connectivity that Recruitee lacks. This is particularly valuable for companies wanting to streamline their HR tech stack and ensure smooth data flow between recruitment and HR systems.

Recruitee is best for

 • Businesses with moderate to high hiring volume (>5 open positions at a time)
 • And needs a feature-rich ATS that is also very easy-to-use
 • And needs a highly customizable careers page

Zoho Recruit is best for

 • Businesses with low hiring volume (1-2 job positions at a time)
 • And have a low number of recruiters who need full access to the platform
 • Who need sophisticated candidate evaluation tools like weighted scorecards and multi-stage interview kits

Recruitee is less good for

 • Businesses with low hiring volume (1-2 positions open at a time)
 • Who want an affordable, lightweight ATS
 • And/or who need candidate nurturing features

Zoho Recruit is less good for

 • Businesses with a high hiring volume (>5 open positions at a time)
 • And/ or businesses who need a different interview pipeline per position
 • Who need an intuitive, modern interface for their hiring team

Functionality

8/10

Besides essential ATS features like job posting, interview scheduling, and candidate tracking, Recruitee also allows you to create fully automated workflows, build customisable career pages, interview kits and scorecards, enable self-scheduling for candidates and more.

However, it lacks advanced features like email nurturing and weighted scorecards.

8

Functionality

8/10

Zoho Recruit actually offers all the functionality that most SMBs will need for hiring. This includes fully automated communication & interview scheduling, quick application review & bulk actions, weighted scorecards and interview kits, and AI features. However, it has one major limitation: the inability to customize interview pipeline per job opening.

Ease of Use
9

Ease of Use

9/10

Despite its rich functionality, Recruitee has a simple, uncluttered UI that is very easy to use. Key workflows such as creating a job opening, customizing an interview pipeline and setting up automations are all very straightforward and intuitive. An average startup employee should require around an hour and minimum guidance to use the product proficiently.

2

Ease of Use

2/10

We found navigating Zoho Recruit to be very challenging, with key information like the interview pipeline being hard to find. E.g. clicking a job opening doesn't show the pipeline directly; it's hidden in another tab. Also, many functions open new pages, leading to multiple tabs and a cluttered experience.

Look and feel
7

Look and feel

7/10

Recruitee has a simple, uncluttered and visually appealing interface - though we find it to be a bit on the plainer side. It also has fast page load times.

3

Look and feel

3/10

We find Zoho Recruit visually unappealing, with a dated and cluttered interface although it has acceptable load times.

Customisability
8

Customisability

8/10

You can customise most things on Recruitee, from data fields, interview stages, job application forms, and more. It provides an excellent drag-and-drop careers site builder with highly customizable features.

However, it lacks the ability to customize individual interview stages with reusable templates or the layout of the platform.

5

Customisability

5/10

Zoho Recruit offers standard to good levels of customization for most functions like careers page, job application form, surveys, and interview scheduling. However, a major, major limitation is that you can only customize one hiring pipeline for all positions.

Ease of Setup
9

Ease of Setup

9/10

Recruitee offers a free trial and purchasing doesn't require you to speak to sales. The platform has a simple UI that makes completing basic setup easy; <30mins. Fully customizing key features takes approximately 1 business day.

6

Ease of Setup

6/10

Zoho Recruit offers a free trial and offers a free plan which doesn't require speaking to sales to gain access. Purchasing also doesn't require speaking to sales. However, the platform is difficult to navigate making completing basic setup time consuming; 30-60mins. Fully customizing key features takes approximately 1 week.

Customer Support
7

Customer Support

7/10

Recruitee provides in-app live chat with friendly live human agents. However, our testers found they had to answer quite a few questions with an AI chatbot to be routed to a human, and response times are a bit slow (2 - 4 hours). On the positive side, they offer a high-quality help centre.

4

Customer Support

4/10

We found Zoho Recruit's customer support subpar. The help center is low quality, with many articles getting more negative than positive feedback. Live chat support is available on Zoho's website, but agents aren't always super helpful and response times are slow.

Integratability
9

9/10

Recruitee offers 120+ integrations covering a wide range of tools including HRIS, assessments, background checks, e-sign tools, and video interviews. It also connects to 2900 job boards (21 are free). It also has an API for custom integrations.

6

Integratability

6/10

Zoho Recruit offers similar integrations as other ATS's but is crucially missing integrations with any HRIS products. However, it does offer an API for custom integrations.
