PS

Salesforce Sales Cloud and Streak represent opposite ends of the CRM spectrum. Salesforce is the ultimate enterprise-grade solution with unmatched customization, automation, and reporting capabilities, ideal for large organizations with complex sales processes and dedicated Salesforce administrators. Its powerful features come at the cost of significant complexity and a steep learning curve.

Streak, operating entirely within Gmail, offers a streamlined experience that can work for small teams or individual users who prioritize email-centric workflows and quick implementation over advanced functionality. While Streak excels at email sequences and basic CRM features, it lacks the depth and sophistication of Salesforce's enterprise features.

Advantages of Salesforce Sales Cloud

Salesforce has superior lead management functionality
Salesforce provides a powerful dedicated 'Leads' tab with built-in lead pipeline stages and granular filtering logic. This is particularly valuable for large sales teams with complex sales processes. In contrast, Streak requires users to set up a custom pipeline and manage leads through basic tags.
Salesforce has significantly better reporting capabilities
Salesforce's reporting is best-in-class, powered by Tableau integration. It excels at analyzing individual and team performance across key metrics, with the highest number of visualization options and funnel variables. While Streak offers basic reporting, it lacks the depth and sophistication of Salesforce's analytics suite.
Salesforce is far more powerful at workflow automation
Salesforce offers the most advanced workflow builder we've tested, with 13 settings tabs under 'Process Automation' alone. This enables enterprise teams to automate complex business processes and integrate with any app to adapt to their workflow. Streak's automation capabilities are limited to basic use cases like updating data fields when deals move stages.
Salesforce offers vastly superior customization options
We find Salesforce to be highly customizable, allowing us to tailor virtually everything from the user interface to complex integrations using its Apex programming language. In contrast, Streak's customization options are more limited, notably lacking custom objects for complex workflows.

Advantages of Streak

Streak is significantly easier to use for email-centric sales teams

Operating entirely within Gmail, Streak offers a streamlined experience for teams focused on email communication. Unlike Salesforce Sales Cloud's complex interface, Streak allows us to manage contacts, track relationships, and send email sequences without leaving our inbox. This is particularly valuable for small teams or individual users who prioritize email-based sales processes.

Streak offers more straightforward email sequence functionality

While Salesforce requires add-ons or Marketing Cloud access for email sequences, Streak provides this functionality out of the box with an intuitive interface. We found it surprisingly easy to create and manage email sequences directly from Gmail, which is particularly beneficial for teams focused on email outreach without needing complex automation logic.

Streak provides faster implementation and learning curve

Unlike Salesforce Sales Cloud which requires weeks to learn basic operations, Streak can be set up and mastered quickly. The intuitive Gmail-based interface means users can start managing contacts and pipelines immediately, making it ideal for teams that need to get up and running quickly without extensive training.

Salesforce Sales Cloud is best for

 • Businesses with a high volume of customer interactions (>100 messages/calls per day)
 • Who need advanced workflow automation, extensive customization capabilities and a high number of integrations
 • And who want best-in-class reporting and analytics capabilities
 • And can afford dedicated resources to maintain Salesforce

Streak is best for

 • Businesses with a low volume of customer interactions (10-50 messages/calls per day)
 • Who need to manage relationships and send email sequences without leaving Gmail
 • And who want straightforward automation for simple workflows like updating deal stages

Salesforce Sales Cloud is less good for

 • Businesses with a low volume of customer interactions (<50 messages/calls per day)
 • Without dedicated Salesforce administrators or technical expertise
 • Or who seek an intuitive, out-of-the-box CRM solution

Streak is less good for

 • Businesses with a high volume of customer interactions (>100 messages/calls per day)
 • Who require Outlook integration or multi-channel communication (SMS, live chat)
 • And who need marketing automation capabilities beyond email sequences

Stackfix Verdict
Functionality
10

Functionality

10/10

Salesforce is one of the most powerful CRMs on the market. Its core functionality will be more than sufficient for most companies, and it also offers advanced capabilities that should satisfy even the most complex enterprises.

6

Functionality

6/10

For a CRM that operates within your Gmail inbox, Streak offers a surprisingly robust set of features. In addition to managing contacts and pipelines, it provides email sequences, data enrichment, an AI co-pilot, and custom reporting.

However, it lacks some advanced features, such as tracking web visitors, capturing contacts via webform and ability to create custom objects.

Ease of Use
1

Ease of Use

1/10

Salesforce has the steepest learning curve and most complex user experience out of all CRM experiences. Built for large sales teams, everything (e.g. editing pipeline stages, adding an opportunity) takes longer to get done. There are foreign terms for technically proficient, power users everywhere, especially in the automations modules. Be prepared to invest weeks to learn the basic operations, and months to master the advanced features.

7

Ease of Use

7/10

As a CRM that sits on top of your Gmail inbox, Streak is easy to set up and use.

Key workflows are also intuitive. In particular, you can easily add contacts to your pipeline from your email threads via a sidebar and easily enrol contacts into an email sequence.

Some of the more advanced features like automation however, has a bit of learning curve to them.

Look and feel
4

Look and feel

4/10

Even with the latest Salesforce Lightning, the user interface still feels cluttered and dated compared to newer CRMs out there—it’s definitely not a joy to use.

5

Look and feel

5/10

We find Streak visually acceptable, though its layout is a bit cluttered at times. Our main gripe however, is that Streak loads slowly e.g. when you login, it takes at least 5-6 seconds before Streak loads.

Customisability
10

Customisability

10/10

With Salesforce's Apex programming language, you can customise almost anything you can think of - from user interface, sales workflows to how Salesforce integrates with other software.

7

Customisability

7/10

Streak allow you to customize most things, from fields, pipeline stages, reports, saved reports and workflows.

However, it lacks the ability to add custom objects, which allows you to track items besides contacts and companies, which may limit Streak's useful to build more complex workflows.

Ease of Setup
1

Ease of Setup

1/10

Salesforce offers a self-serve free trial, but as an enterprise-focused platform, the initial setup is a lot more involved. Even the simplest configurations can take over 20 minutes, with basic tasks, like customizing pipeline stages, requiring more steps compared to other CRMs. Fully customizing and implementing Salesforce can take several months, and many teams end up hiring dedicated consultants or technical experts (at significant expense) to handle setup and data migration.

9

Ease of Setup

9/10

Streak offers a self-serve free trial. It takes almost no time to get started with Streak, which is simply a Chrome Extension that sits on your inbox. Fully customising the platform with workflow automation and reports is still straightforward, and can be done within 1 business day.

Customer Support
4

Customer Support

4/10

Salesforce offers personalized Q&A through live chat, but it’s only available during business hours and often feels sales-y. We wish the coverage was greater and they held off on the upsell!

7

Customer Support

7/10

Streak offers live chat with human agents who are helpful and quick to respond. However, note that they are online only during US business hours.

Integratability
10

Integratability

10/10

Salesforce has the most extensive integration ecosystem of any CRM. It offers pre-built integrations with nearly all the key third-party tools and provides a robust API for building custom integrations.

3

Integratability

3/10

Streak only offers a few pre-built integrations: Google Voice, Calendly, Typeform, Google Sheets, and Slack.

However, it does have an API & Zapier integration.

Ease of Migration
10

Ease of Migration

10/10

Salesforce allows users to export most data via self-serve or via an API. Exports of key data to relevant 3rd party vendors are also available via pre-built integrations.

8

Ease of Migration

8/10

Streak allows users to export key data data via self-serve. Export of most other data are also available via API or on request.
