In comparing these lightweight web analytics tools, Fathom emerges as the more versatile solution for businesses seeking platform-independent analytics, while Vercel Web Analytics shines for companies already committed to the Vercel ecosystem. Fathom's strength lies in its superior ease of use and platform flexibility, making it ideal for businesses that want a simple yet effective analytics solution regardless of their hosting choice.

Functionality

3/10

Vercel's native web analytics offering is very lightweight. It offers only the basics fundamentals of web analytics such as visitor counts, referral tracking and traffic segmentation data. You'll not find anything complex like heatmaps or session replay data here. Additionally, the tool is only usable if you host your site on Vercel.

7/10

Given its limited feature set and beautiful design, Vercel Web Analytics is particularly easy to use.
