Key findings

Avoma is a great note-taker, with accurate transcription and thoroughly grounded summaries, follow-ups, sales framework scoring and Q&A capabilities. Unusually it also offers call scheduling. With a busy front end and a lag in page loads, the user interface is sadly disappointing and feels somewhat dated. We found the CRM integration to be limited as well. For businesses with no sales coaching set-up, and who could benefit from a well-trained AI run coaching for users, it could work.

Pros

Intelligent Conversation Analysis
We found the AI-powered conversation analysis particularly strong, with natural language query capabilities and context-specific prompts. The system excels at drafting follow-up emails and extracting key business metrics from conversations.
Frictionless Setup Process
We experienced a smooth onboarding process with their 14-day full-feature trial, requiring no demo booking or payment details. The system automatically reverts to a basic account after the trial, making it ideal for teams wanting to test thoroughly.
Advanced Sales Framework Analysis
We were impressed by the 14 default scorecards covering various sales methodologies. The AI-driven analysis of MEDDIC and BANT frameworks provides detailed scoring and descriptive feedback, with customization options for creating organization-specific frameworks.
Outstanding Customer Support
We experienced exceptional real-time support through live chat during UK office hours, thanks to their global support coverage. The well-structured help center includes valuable best practices, particularly beneficial for teams looking to improve their note-taking and call coaching processes.

Cons

Difficult to Navigate Interface
We found the user interface to be frustratingly complex, with multiple scrolling panels making navigation a real challenge. The steep learning curve and dated feel significantly impact user productivity, especially for new team members trying to get up to speed.
Clunky CRM Integration
The CRM integration is painfully awkward, particularly when connecting meetings to deals. We found the requirement to enter company names before deal names to be unnecessarily cumbersome, creating friction in what should be a seamless workflow.
Weak Integration Framework
While Avoma connects with popular CRMs and dialers, we found the integration capabilities to be surprisingly limited. This poses challenges for teams needing deep, seamless connections with their broader tech stack.

Avoma is best for

  • Businesses with less mature sales teams seeking AI-driven coaching and comprehensive note-taking
  • Who need comprehensive meeting documentation with intelligent summaries and follow-ups
  • And/or who need to share customer conversations across their organization

Avoma is less good for

  • Businesses with established sales processes who need a modern, streamlined interface
  • Who need real-time coaching capabilities
  • And/or who need advanced deal risk analysis
