BoldSign is a fast, affordable eSignature tool that’s strong for small teams with straightforward signing needs. It combines excellent value - including a generous free tier - with powerful features like audit trails, conditional fields, and strong document security.

The interface is clean and easy to use, with a flexible drag-and-drop builder and visual document tracking. That said, reporting is limited, and customer support can be slow - so it’s less suited to teams needing deep analytics or hands-on assistance.

Pros

Excellent value for money

BoldSign offers rich functionality at low cost. Its generous free tier lets you send 25 signature requests per month and even includes advanced features like audit trails and a solid analytics dashboard - features many competitors lock behind paid plans.

The Growth plan is a steal at $10/month, covering three users and unlocking 150 signature requests per month - significantly cheaper than most alternatives.

Advanced Document Builder

We tested BoldSign’s drag-and-drop builder and were impressed. It’s packed with advanced field options – formulas, conditional triggers, custom properties – while still feeling intuitive. If you’re dealing with complex signing workflows, it makes document prep fast and painless.

Cons

Limited Data Export Functionality

We found BoldSign’s export options underwhelming. You can download PDFs of documents and export a basic CSV audit trail - but that’s about it. There’s no easy way to pull broader reporting across documents, which makes it frustrating for teams who rely on data to track activity or spot trends.

Basic Customer Support

When we tested BoldSign’s support, response times on live chat were slow. They do offer phone support and help docs, but overall the experience felt a bit undercooked - especially if you’re dealing with urgent, time-sensitive documents.
