Key findings

Moosend is an email marketing platform for non-technical, e-commerce companies. While it markets itself as the simplest and most modern solution, we found Moosend to be jam-packed with an almost overwhelming amount of features and customization options, inside a dated and, at times, unintuitive interface. On the other hand however, Moosend provides extensive marketing functionalities at a low cost—including automated email series, landing pages, custom forms, and A/B testing—all without the need for coding. It is also optimized for e-commerce, offering default templates and filters for scenarios like cart abandonment and upselling. So, while it's a strong option for non-technical e-commerce teams, others seeking a simple email marketing tool might want to look elsewhere.

Highly customizable marketing tools

We found Moosend offers exceptional customization capabilities for non-technical teams. From complex email workflows with percentage-based audience splits to highly customizable landing pages and forms, it provides extensive control without requiring coding knowledge.

Comprehensive & full-suite email marketing

We tested Moosend's email marketing capabilities and found them quite complete, featuring rich template libraries, advanced automation workflows, and unique elements like countdown timers and product showcases - particularly valuable for e-commerce businesses.

Responsive customer support

We experienced consistently quick access to human support agents through live chat, with response times of just minutes even during peak hours. The support team demonstrated both friendliness and technical competence in addressing our queries.

Robust data export capabilities

We found Moosend excels in data accessibility, offering comprehensive self-serve export options for everything from email lists to custom campaign performance reports, making it ideal for teams that need detailed marketing analytics.

Cons

Dated and Cluttered Interface

We found the interface to be painfully outdated and cluttered, with elements overlapping when resizing windows and text spilling out of containers. This makes it frustrating for marketing teams who need to work efficiently across different screen sizes.

Overwhelming and Unintuitive User Experience

The platform's complexity makes it daunting for new users, with scattered settings and unexplained advanced features. We estimate it would take an average SMB employee at least a week to feel comfortable using the platform - a significant onboarding burden.

No Multi-Channel Marketing Capabilities

Despite positioning itself as a comprehensive marketing platform, Moosend lacks crucial multi-channel features. We found no native capabilities for SMS marketing, social media management, or Google Ads integration, limiting its effectiveness for modern marketing strategies.

We found critical gaps in Moosend's integration ecosystem, particularly for e-commerce. The platform lacks integration with major platforms like Shopify, Webflow, and Stripe, severely limiting its utility for online retailers needing seamless commerce capabilities.
