Key findings

Outreach is a pure sales engagement tool that's focused on serving B2B enterprise businesses. In terms of outbound capabilities, it supports the core channels you'd expect such as email, phone and LinkedIn - however, from a lead sourcing front, you won't find any kind of native prospecting database included. Like Salesloft, it focuses heavily on offering class leading analytics, pipeline management and lead scoring features to separate it from the simpler all-in-one sales tools in the market. As such Outreach is best suited to larger businesses who already have a prospecting solution in place and are looking for a dedicated engagement tool.

Feature available

Pros

Comprehensive Analytics Suite
We found Outreach's analytics capabilities to be exceptionally robust, particularly excelling in sales forecasting, agent coaching insights, and AI conversation analysis - features often missing in basic sales tools.
Strong Integration Ecosystem
We were impressed by Outreach's extensive integration capabilities, connecting seamlessly with major CRMs, email providers, and sales tools. This makes it particularly valuable for enterprises with complex tech stacks.
Strong sales forecasting functionality

Unlike many smaller all-in-one sales tools, Outreach offers strong sales forecasting and pipeline management functionality

Feature unavailable

Cons

Lack of Native Contact Database
We were deeply disappointed by the complete absence of any native prospecting capabilities. Sales teams are forced to purchase and integrate separate prospecting tools, adding unnecessary cost and complexity to their tech stack.
Extremely Poor Setup Experience
We found the setup process to be unnecessarily complex and frustrating. With no self-serve option or free trial available, users must navigate multiple sales conversations before accessing the product. Even post-access, the extensive configuration requirements for sequences and dashboards create significant friction.
Mediocre User Experience
We found the learning curve steeper than necessary, particularly with newer AI features that feel confusing at first glance. The average SMB employee faces several hours of training before achieving proficiency - a significant productivity drain.

Outreach is best for

  • Larger enterprises with established prospecting solutions in place
  • Who need sophisticated sales analytics and forecasting capabilities
  • And/or who need extensive integration capabilities with major CRM and email platforms

Outreach is less good for

  • Businesses with simple sales processes requiring quick self-setup
  • Who need built-in prospecting and data enrichment capabilities
  • And/or who need advanced sequence automation with conditional logic and inbox rotation
