Twenty CRM is an open-source platform you can host yourself, giving you complete control over how you structure and manage your data. If you’ve got the technical skills, you can customize every detail to perfectly fit your business processes.

But if your team isn’t tech-savvy, you might want to steer clear. Twenty has limited out-of-the-box features and demands a lot more technical expertise than most off-the-shelf CRMs.

We found Twenty's open-source nature enables complete customization of the CRM's data structure and workflows. Technical teams can modify every aspect of the platform to match their specific business processes.

Modern, intuitive interface
We were impressed by Twenty's Notion-inspired design that delivers a premium feel with sleek interactions and fast page loads (1-2 seconds). The minimal feature set and keyboard shortcuts make navigation efficient.
Strong integration potential
While lacking pre-built integrations, we found Twenty's powerful and flexible API enables seamless connectivity with most external systems, making it highly adaptable for technical teams.

Severely Limited Core Functionality
We found Twenty to be more of a basic customer database than a full CRM. It lacks critical features like email campaigns, call tracking, analytics, and automation capabilities that most sales teams need for effective customer relationship management.
Unintuitive Pipeline Management

We think that non-technical users will find Twenty's pipeline structure to be unintuitive and rigid. Out of the box, Twenty provides only one pipeline under "Opportunities" - adding multiple pipelines under "Opportunities" isn’t straightforward and requires technical configuration. Similarly, assigning a deal owner involves configuring a new "relation type" in the same "data model" settings, adding unnecessary complexity to what should be simple tasks.

Missing Analytics & Reporting
During testing, we discovered Twenty offers no built-in reporting or analytics capabilities. You can't track basic metrics like email engagement, pipeline performance, or sales activities - making it impossible to measure team performance or make data-driven decisions.
Limited Pre-Built Integrations

We found Twenty lacks native integrations with essential business tools like Gmail, Outlook, Slack, or video conferencing platforms. While it has an API, teams will need technical resources to build connections to other tools they use daily.

Twenty is best for

  • Businesses with very low volume of customer interactions (<10 messages/calls per day)
  • Who need complete control over their CRM's data structure and have technical expertise
  • And who want to self-host their CRM for data privacy or compliance reasons

Twenty is less good for

  • Businesses with a moderate to high volume of customer interactions (>10 messages/calls per day)
  • Who need richer features like email sequencing and reporting
  • And/ or non-technical teams who need an out-of-the-box solution with standard CRM workflows
